We are excited to welcome leaders, organizers, advocates, and community members from across the Midwest to The Brave of Us: The Midwest Democracy & Power Summit.

This Summit, hosted by the Immigrant Defense Network, is designed to move us beyond reflection and into coordinated action. Together, we will strengthen relationships and align around a shared vision for advancing immigration reform, human rights, civic participation, and collective power across our communities.

At a moment when communities across the country are facing growing political division, attacks on immigrant rights, and threats to democratic participation, this Summit offers a space to strengthen solidarity, deepen collaboration, and reimagine a more just and inclusive future. It is also an opportunity to reclaim the principle that immigrants are a blessing to our communities and that it is up to the brave among us to help shape the future of democracy and human rights work in the Midwest.

Together, we renew our commitment to building collective power rooted in community leadership, dignity, and human rights.

Summit Experiences

  • Build a shared understanding of democracy, immigration, and human rights
  • Strengthen cross-sector and multiracial coalitions
  • Launch regional working groups and long-term strategies
  • Activate civic and political participation
  • Create lasting partnerships and collective action beyond the summit

We are truly excited to have you join us for this important and inspiring event.
