Emergency Family Support Is Available

No one should have to face this alone.

Immigrant Defense Network

Families across Minnesota are facing extraordinary harm due to an unprecedented surge in federal immigration enforcement. These are not ordinary times. Many families are living in fear, afraid to leave their homes, go to work, or take their children to school, worried they may never return.

Both documented and undocumented community members are being targeted, detained, and, in many cases, subjected to violence. Since Trump took office, more than 10,000 of our neighbors in Minnesota have been detained, including over 3,000 people in January 2026 alone. Each detention leaves families to navigate fear, uncertainty, and separation—often with little to no support.

No one should have to face this alone.

If you or your family have been harmed or impacted by immigration enforcement in our communities and need support with any of the following, we are here to help:

  • Rent and housing to prevent eviction
  • Food and basic necessities
  • Utilities to keep the lights and heat on
  • Transportation to get to work, school, or court
  • Mental health support to cope with stress and trauma

Call the COPAL Helpline at (612) 255-3112

What to Expect:

  • Calls are handled with care and confidentiality
  • Support is prioritized for families directly impacted by detention or enforcement activity
  • Assistance depends on need and available resources

This work is possible because people are choosing to step up and put their values into action.
